Acclaimed comedy troupe THE DOG-EARED COLLECTIVE return to the fringe to unleash their latest sketch comedy smack down BAD DOG VARIETY.

The company’s gleefully anarchic style, already likened to ‘The Mighty Boosh’ (Camden New Journal), earned them critical success at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe:

The Dog-Eared Collective leaves no pun unspoken, no sigh gag unseen, no entendre left singular in its take no prisoners campaign for laughs...

more laughs than any other fringe shows put together..

Gerald Berkowitz, THE STAGE on Barnaby Brown: Orphan Extraordinaire

BAD DOG VARIETY is a riotous sketch show where live stunts, comedy and cabaret collide. Join Babs Malloy's Yorkshire & European All-Stars including Signor Love Shark and his puppet Pinky, mystic mind-nester Snaaake and Fantasy Jackson's Sex Gremlin Dungeon Party.

An explosive mix of sharp satirical writing & outrageous physical comedy, it’s a dazzlingly deviant sketch show experience.

The Dog-Eared Collective will be performing at Smirnoff Underbelly at 12.15pm from 31st to 24th August.

Paul Levy
 writer of Recycled Dreams
presented by Rational Madness Theatre Company

'Recycled dreams is an absolute winner.... there is no doubt that this play will be a launching pad for Paul Levy in having his work acknowledged in the genius status..we are all going to hear much more from Paul Levy..the play and it's performance well deserves an over Five Star Rating...' USA Weekly News

Recycled Dreams

"Welcome to Firefly, a company going green in more ways than one - Recycling posters adorn the walls of the coffer areas, while the personal dreams and aspirations of three employees are going green with mould."

Directors Note
Staging an on-site piece of theatre that can play in non-theatre venues but also stand its ground in a traditional theatre space is a challenge. We' ve made a piece of theatre that can expand and contract in different sized performance spaces. the photocopier stands centre stage back, physically and symbolically. The place where people meet, the displacement where we do and don't do work. This is a naturalistic piece but I've experimented with more expressionistic elements as well, especially in portraying the more philosophical parts of the play. Recycled Dreams is all about personal sustainability as a metaphor for global survival. There are no "green messages" here. the "Environment" is the backdrop for an encounter between three human beings, a conversation about life, and how we sustain our dreams in the face of repetition and mediocrity. Paper lies everywhere - numbers, words, thoughts, ideas - repeated, recycled and reused. the paper reflects the clutter that out#r characters, Natalie, Jamie and Nick have before them, both physically and biographically. Recycled Dreams makes use of film to explore the notion of recycling, not just of things, but also dreams and ideas. As an onsite peice, we'll be playing at real photocopiers in real offices using the paper that the staff there have discarded. The staff become the audience, and the play drawing on the worlk of Rational Madness and Brecht, holds up a mirror for the audience to see aspects of their own personal sustainability. It'd a short play, a glimpse and, most of all, a little explosion in the heart of organisational life.

Universal Arts
was formed in 1998 by Tomek Borkowy and Laura Mackenzie Stuart by amalgamating Arts International Exchange (est. 1994) and Eastern European Media Services (est. 1993). It acts as performing arts promoters, agents, producers and arts related consultants.

We believe that in a market economy theatre production is like any other product, which has to be well developed and marketed to attract potential buyers (i.e. receiving theatres, festivals and, most of all, audience).

The original aim of Universal Arts was to assist international theatre companies to extend their touring reach by showcasing work at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and marketing it to international theatre and festival programmers.  This has since extended to developing a world-wide agency and a production arm of the business.

big on emotion, big on

Life at the
Molecular Level

presented by Present Attempt, performed at the Underbelly

Present Attempt were also winners of a
USA Weekly News 100 Star Award Night
for Attempt 3.4 presented at the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe film, which was also chosen by the INL News group to be made into a feature film, being the first feature film to be made out of a fringe play using six cameras to film it at the C Venues and edited from the six different camera angles into a feature film. The idea behind this was to show the potential of turning fringe performances into feature films that can be played in cinemas all around the world as an alternative to the big budget Hollywood block busters, having captured the spirit and excitement of a fringe performance performed live at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. There is an ever increasing world interest in Fringe performances,
however with the large amount of performances every year at fringe festivals around the world and the difficulty of many interested people not being able  to see them live. those interested in this cutting edge theatre, music, dance, comedy and other types of performances would them be able to enjoy fringe performances on film at their local cinema all year round. This way performers at the fringe can receive income all year round from these films
and this income can help make up the losses often made by performers coming to the fringe each year in the hope they can receive some world wide attention and recognition to their performances.
In 2007 during the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe there were in excess of 200 million clicks on web sites associated with the Edinburgh Fringe and Yahoo named the Edinburgh Fringe as one of the highest searched subjects on the internet. This shows there is increasing large world interest in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival which has become the largest Arts Festival in the world.

Fringe 2009 7-31 August

The Chinese State Circus

Welcome to edfringe.com

The 2008 Edinburgh Festival Fringe has now come to a close and had many highs and successes despite the downpours, the credit crunch and ticketing problems with the usual vast array of shows, venues and bucket-load of awards.

With 1.5 million tickets sold over the course of the festival, (the third consecutive Fringe that the 1.5 million mark has been surpassed) venues popping up across the city ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous, and a programme of shows with the full gamut of talent, ambition, and energy, it’s clear that the Edinburgh Festival Fringe remains the worlds largest open arts festival and to many it is considered the Greatest Show On Earth.

But like Christmas, Easter and the football season, as soon as one Fringe is done and dusted another begins to ready itself. So without further ado here’s to the Fringe 2009, which will take place 7-31August.

In the meantime feel free to browse this site which is bursting with info on 2008. Here you can find all of the info on the awards and peruse the reviews and relive your favourite Fringe moments on our Fringe Framed photo gallery. Or why not get chatting on the message boards about this year’s best shows and what might be in store for next year.

Fringe 2008 is over, long live Fringe 2009!

The INL News Group is working in your interests at
the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe Festival in three main areas:

1. The INL News Group is looking for acts to film live and turn into films.
At previous Fringe Festivals in Edinburgh and Dublin the INL News Group have made films from a number of shows, such as:

Attempt 3.4:  2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival
Dirty Beat Up Yanks: 2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival; The Racket: 2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival; My Space the Musical:  2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival; Sister She:  2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival; Molly Bloom:  2007 Dublin Fringe Festival;; Mobile:  2007 Dublin Fringe Festival;
Till Something Better Comes Along: 2006 Edinburgh Fringe Festival; Bonnie From Brighton:  2006 Edinburgh Fringe Festival
Women With Standards:  2006 Edinburgh Fringe Festival

2. The INL News Group will be holding party review nights in a central venue where the fringe shows and their crews can meet each other, make
valuable contacts for the future in the industry and have the opportunity to put on a five minute preview of their show and have a great time mixing with other people in the industry. These party nights will be filmed and also will be shown as live streaming on the world wide web and the 5 minute previews will be made into video clips
and placed on the world wide web on one or more of the INL News Group's associated publications which will become great advertising
for the shows that have performed the five minute previews of their individual show.

3. The INL News Group is also involved with helping to sponsor the New York International Theatre, Music, Film and Arts Festival (commonly known as the NYITFest) which was started in a small way last year and the INL News Group hopes the NYITFest will grow into an interesting and exciting way for acts that received great reviews from fringe festivals around the world, to be selected each year to perform their show at the NYITFest, which will be held in  each year in New York City. The INL News Group and the various world media groups they are associated with, will be on the lookout at the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe Festival for shows that they feel are worthy of selection for the NYITFest each year.

4. The INL News Group is involved with sponsoring music, theatre, arts, dance, films, festivals etc, all around the world and are always on the lookout for entertaining shows that have the potential to be promoted to a world-wide audience, having being discovered at one of the fringe festivals that are held around the world each year, such as the very popular Edinburgh, Dublin, New York and Australian Fringe Festivals, to name a few, that the INL News Group are involved with reviewing.

Anyone associated with the organisation of the  Edinburgh Fringe Festival and/or any of the fringe shows should email the INL News
Group on an urgent basis if:

(a) you are interested in having your show reviewed by  INL News Group and/or one of its associated publications; and/or

(b)  you are interested in being involved in any small, medium or
